The fourth-year defensive tackle returned from the non-football injury list just this week.
Unsurprisingly, newly-activated Christian Barmore will not immediately return to his three-down role along the New England Patriots defensive line. Head coach Jerod Mayo said as much during a pre-game interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub ahead of his team’s Week 11 contest versus the Los Angeles Rams.
“He’ll be on a pitch count,” Mayo said. “We’ll make sure we take care of him. But looking forward to him going out there and making some splash plays.”
Barmore returned to practice on Thursday after spending the previous three-and-a-half months on the non-football injury list following a blood clots diagnosis. The 25-year-old actually practiced just once this week, but was still activated to the 53-man roster on Saturday and subsequently made part of the game day squad against the Rams.
The rematch of Super Bowls XXXVI and LIII is scheduled to be kicked off at 1 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium.
