It appears a landing spot has already emerged for former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
During this Friday’s edition of “Get Up,” ESPN insider Dan Graziano mentioned the Atlanta Falcons as a suitor for Belichick.
“It seems like most people that watch these situations closely say Atlanta is the spot to watch for him,” Graziano said. “I think they have some level of interest [in Belichick]. We’ll see if he has some level of interest in them. Good roster, they’re gonna need a quarterback, but there’ll be options out there.”
The Falcons fired Arthur Smith just a few hours after losing their regular-season finale. He went 7-10 in each of his three seasons in Atlanta.

Graziano isn’t the only insider who believes the Falcons will show interest in Belichick.
“Falcons owner Arthur Blank has taken some big swings at other high-profile head coaches in the past,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said. “Blank once pursued, but didn’t land, Joe Gibbs. He once pursued, but didn’t land, Bill Parcells. Now the Falcons have a head coach opening, and Bill Belichick is a free agent.”
Belichick would give the Falcons a proven winner at head coach. Does he think he can win with that roster though? If the answer is yes, then maybe we’ll see a deal come to fruition.
