Thursday Night Football has featured a lot of unappealing matchups through the years. But tonight’s game between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers is widely expected to be an all-time stinker for fans who enjoy offense.
The visiting Patriots are 2-10 and have been the worst team offensively in the league. They’re averaging 12.3 points per game and have been held to fewer than 10 points five times. Their defense isn’t elite either, ranking 15th in points allowed but a respectable 8th in yards allowed.
The Steelers, meanwhile, have overcome their offensive woes (of which there are many) to reach 7-5 thanks largely to their defense, which ranks 6th in points allowed. But an injury to starter Kenny Pickett means that Mitch Trubisky will be getting the starting nod this week.
ESPN’s computer model has released its prediction for the game.
ESPN’s computer model believes that Pittsburgh has this game on lock. The computer model gives the Steelers a 64.9-percent chance to win tonight’s game.
The over/under for this game is 30.5 point – the lowest for any game this season and the lowest for any NFL game in three decades.
This could be an ugly one.
The game will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
