The New England Patriots have not yet decided on the future of head coach Bill Belichick.
Belichick will either return for another season in 2024 or the Patriots will be on the hunt for their first new head coach in nearly 25 years. As the Patriots head into the offseason, ESPN took a deep dive into what the team will do before the 2024 season.
ESPN’s Aaron Schatz revealed his one big prediction for the Patriots this offseason. He believes the team will draft a quarterback in the first round and then pay up for current Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr in free agency.
The Patriots will draft a young quarterback in the first round and then give him a top target to help him get used to the NFL. With a ton of cap space for 2024, the Patriots will be able to afford an expensive contract and bring in Michael Pittman Jr.
Patriots quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe both struggled during the 2023 season so it’s certainly possible the team drafts their replacement.
Adding a top weapon to one of the worst wide receiver rooms in the NFL can’t hurt either.
