Former New England Patriots executive Michael Lombardi didn’t like the shade that Skip Bayless threw at Bill Belichick on Thursday.
During a segment on Undisputed, Bayless called Belichick a “glorified defensive coordinator” before tweeting that Tom Brady made all of the plays late in games to win Super Bowls.
Bill Belichick is the greatest defensive mind ever, but Tom Brady ran the offense and made the late plays to win all those Super Bowls. https://t.co/DCYl7jvl4l

Once Lombardi saw that tweet, he went in on Bayless.
“Clearly, Skip, with all due respect, you have no idea what went on in that building for the past 24 years. Zero,” Lombardi tweeted.

It’s a bit much from Bayless to go that far since Belichick played a big part in the Patriots winning those six Super Bowls. Brady made the plays on offense but Belichick’s defense also had to come through with timely plays and that unit did that.
Both units contributed to the team’s success and it’s why the Patriots’ dynasty will go down as one of the best in NFL history.
