The ex-Patriots and ex-Titans in the fold for Sunday at Nissan Stadium.
Some familiar faces will cross paths with their former teams at Nissan Stadium.
Between the active rosters, practice squads and reserve lists, five players in the fold for Sunday have been both New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans during the NFL journeys. Their stints varied from days to years.
Here’s a glance through the list heading into the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
TENNESSEE
Arlington Hambright, guard — The Titans added Hambright to the practice squad on Tuesday amid a series of moves that also included the departure of ex-Patriots wide receiver Mason Kinsey from the 53-man roster. The 28-year-old began the season on the practice squad of the Houston Texans after spending the previous two campaigns with Indianapolis Colts. Originally landing with the Chicago Bears in the seventh round of the 2020 class, Hambright appeared in nine games, starting one, for the organization that drafted him. He then headed to Foxborough on futures contract in 2022. Snaps at left tackle, left guard and right guard followed in preseason action before the product of Garden City Community College, Oklahoma State and Colorado was waived.
Corey Levin, center — On the practice squad, Levin finds himself back with the organization that called his name in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL draft at No. 217 overall. The Chattanooga product’s career has spanned 61 games along the interior offensive line. Stops with the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and New York Jets were made by Levin. So were two days on New England’s practice squad in the fall of 2020 before being released. The 30-year-old center and guard has started four games during his tours in Tennessee. He re-signed during training camp in July and was retained after being part of the league’s 53-man roster deadline.
Nick Folk, kicker — A run that began in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL draft is still going for the Dallas Cowboys’ former rookie Pro Bowler. Folk spent time in Florham Park before heading to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then to Foxborough in 2019 following a stint in the Alliance of American Football. The veteran kicker would be a member of the practice squad and 53-man roster while there. Going 108-of-121 on field goals and 116-of-127 on extra points, Folk earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week on four occasions. He tied for the NFL lead in scoring and also set a league record for the most consecutive conversions from inside 50 yards. The Titans acquired Folk from the Patriots after the 2023 preseason. Now set to turn 40 this November, the Arizona alum stands 235 games in.
NEW ENGLAND
Austin Hooper, tight end — Hooper agreed to terms with his fifth club as free agency opened in March. The 29-year-old tight end out of Stanford spent time with the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders prior to then. The Titans, too, back in 2022. He would catch passes from Ryan Tannehill, Malik Willis, Joshua Dobbs and Derrick Henry while in Nashville. And in all, the career has featured 130 games, 379 receptions, 3,831 yards and 27 touchdowns for the No. 81 overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. Twice a Pro Bowler, Hooper has started five contests this campaign for a depth chart led by captain Hunter Henry, logging 15 catches for 129 yards and a visit to the end zone.
Jalen McKenzie, offensive tackle — The Patriots signed McKenzie to the practice squad midway through September. The 25-year-old offensive tackle out of USC went undrafted in 2022 following a Trojans career that spanned 43 appearances and ended with an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl. After spending his rookie training camp with Tennessee, McKenzie went on to spend his rookie regular season on the practice squad of the Seattle Seahawks. He then joined the practice squad in Las Vegas last campaign and was waived at the NFL’s cutdown in August after being re-upped on a futures pact.
