The New England Patriots make the final push to finish out training camp with Sunday’s preseason finale against the Washington Commanders.
It will be the last opportunity for players on the team to make their case for one of the 53 available spots on the main roster. That number seems big initially, but once the business of cutting begins, you quickly realize how little that number truly is.
The toughest decisions for the Patriots will come at positions of need, such as wide receiver, offensive line and defensive line. Not everyone can make the roster, and coach Jerod Mayo and company will have to decide which players give the Patriots the best chance to be competitive right out of the gates.
