Farmer is the 12th player to visit with the Patriots this pre-draft cycle.
If their list of pre-draft visits is any indication, the New England Patriots should be expected to add to their defensive line later this month. Of their twelve known so-called 30 visits, five have involved prospects at either the edge or the interior of the D-line.
Among the latter group is the latest addition to the list. Joshua Farmer, a two-year starter at Florida State, will visit the Patriots before the draft.
“I’ve been at the airport constantly,” Farmer told The Draft Network. “I’ve done a bunch of visits and I have a lot more coming up. I have visits with the Texans, Patriots, Giants, and Steelers, to name a few of them. Those are in-person visits, and I have more of them coming.”
A three-star recruit out of high school, Farmer redshirted during his 2021 true freshman season at FSU and served as a rotational option up front in his second season in the program. By 2023, he had established himself as a starter and never looked back: he registered a combined 9 sacks and 46 total quarterback pressures over that 25-game span.
The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder also has extensive experience against the run. Leaving college as a two-time All-SEC selection — second team 2023, honorable mention 2024 — he projects as a potential Day 2 selection in this month’s draft.
The Patriots’ defensive tackle group is currently led by Christian Barmore and Milton Williams, with Keion White and Khyiris Tonga also part of the top group. They previously also had likely top 10 pick Mason Graham out of Michigan in town for a 30 visit.
