Bradbury is joining the Patriots on a reported two-year contract.
The New England Patriots have a new center. Garrett Bradbury, who was just released by the Minnesota Vikings, is joining the team on a reported two-year deal.
Let’s grade the signing.
Instant grade: Patriots sign Garrett Bradbury to 2-year, $12 million max deal
Bernd Buchmasser: The Patriots have made it clear all offseason that improving the supporting cast around Drake Maye is their No. 1 priority. There will be more dominoes to fall, but relying on Bradbury to play extensive snaps could be risky business given his issues as a pass protector. | Grade: C-
Matt St. Jean: Bradbury raises the floor at center for the Patriots in 2025. He hasn’t received strong grades as a pass blocker, but he’s an upgrade as a run blocker while the team looks to develop a center for the future. | Grade: B-
Pat Lane: The Patriots had a big hole at center, and it’s good to have a veteran player in the role, but Bradbury isn’t very exciting. He’s a guy who struggled mightily in pass protection last year, losing over 10 percent of his 1-on-1 pass blocks last year, but he’s a solid run blocker. It appears that the guaranteed money is short, so there doesn’t seem to be too much risk for the Patriots if Bradbury can’t play. | Grade: C
With Bradbury on board, the Patriots now have five players under contract possibly factoring into the center mix in 2025. He is joining Cole Strange, Ben Brown, Wes Schweitzer and Jake Andrews.
