New England Patriots safety Kyle Dugger has missed the last two games with the ankle injury he suffered back in September. His absence has been notable on a defense that is missing several key players.
Some have wondered if his season could potentially be in jeopardy. That question was posed on Friday afternoon with coach Jerod Mayo updating his availability.
Here’s a breakdown of where things stand in that regard, as well as the other options the Patriots have at the safety position:
Kyle Dugger injury update
Dugger went down with an ankle injury in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers. He has missed four out of the last six games since that contest. The injury proved to be a problem again this week, as he missed the entire week of practice.
How long will Kyle Dugger be out?
Dugger will be out for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. However, Coach Jerod Mayo indicated the veteran safety will play again at some point this season.
“He’ll be back this year, for sure,” Mayo said on Friday.
