New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo gave injury updates on some key players ahead of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
According to Mayo, defensive tackle Christian Barmore is ahead of guard Cole Strange as far as a return timetable. There’s a chance that Barmore could start practicing this week or next week for the Patriots.
Barmore was originally placed on the non-football illness list this summer after being diagnosed with blood clots. Strange has been sidelined since last season with a torn patellar tendon.
The return of Barmore would be huge for a defensive line that has struggled with depth at multiple points this season. He has been an anchor for the line when he’s been healthy. He was also rewarded for his play with a four-year, $92 million deal in the offseason.

Barmore rejoining Keion White and Davon Godchaux along the defensive front could be a game-changer for the Patriots’ defense. All eyes will be on the Patriots’ injury report in the coming days.
