Reddick will be back at the Jets facility on Monday.
One of the most dragged-out sagas in the NFL has found its end. New York Jets edge defender Haason Reddick has decided to end his holdout and will report to the team facility on Monday, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This means that the Jets’ offseason acquisition is in line to make his debut for the franchise in Week 8 against the New England Patriots.
A first-round draft pick out of Temple in 2017, Reddick spent time in Arizona, Carolina and Philadelphia before joining the Jets. The team acquired him in a trade from the Eagles, but he seemingly had no intentions playing for the club under his contract.
As a consequence, Reddick sat out all of training camp and requested to be traded. Neither side gave in, with the defender amassing daily fines and the team not going beyond one turned-down contract offer. That offer led to Reddick parting ways with his representation, and later teaming up with Drew Rosenhaus.
The veteran agent’s presence created some movement, and he said in a statement to Schefter that the two sides now “will continue to work towards a long term extension with the Jets.”
The Patriots will host the Jets at Gillette Stadium next Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
