Judging by his latest social media activity, it appears Julian Edelman approves of the New England Patriots promoting Jerod Mayo to head coach.
On Friday morning, Edelman shared highlights from Mayo’s playing days on Instagram. That video included a kind caption for the newest head coach of the Patriots.
“Congrats @jerod_mayo51 time to get to work,” Edelman wrote.
Edelman and Mayo were teammates from 2009-2015. They won a Super Bowl together during the 2014 season.

Mayo, 37, is now the youngest head coach in the NFL. That title belonged to Sean McVay for several seasons.
The Patriots are so confident in Mayo’s abilities that he was deemed their successor from last offseason. They tweaked his contract to ensure they wouldn’t have to go through a standard hiring process.
Mayo will be formally introduced as the head coach of the Patriots in the near future.
Time will tell if Mayo is the perfect successor to Belichick.
