New England Patriots safeties coach Brian Belichick will be moving on from the team in 2025, according to a report from ESPN’s Mike Reiss on Tuesday.
Belichick was the last remaining member of the Belichick family to remain on the coaching staff. He started as a counting assistant under his father, Bill Belichick, before moving on to coaching assistant and safeties coach.
Bill was ultimately fired by the Patriots after 24 years as the head coach, and Brian’s brother, former Patriots outside linebackers coach Steve Belichick, left for a defensive coordinator job at the University of Washington.
They recently reunited at North Carolina with Bill taking on the head coaching job and Steve joining as the new defensive coordinator.
Brian Belichick, who spent the last five seasons as safeties coach, will be moving on from the Patriots in 2025.
He initially served as a scouting assistant in 2016 and a coaching assistant from 2017-2019.
Devin McCourty, among others, have spoken highly of his coaching acumen.

The departure of Brian Belichick represents the end of an era in New England. One has to wonder where he will end up and if a spot could potentially open for him at Chapel Hill.
