The New England Patriots have yet to announce a starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
NFL teams are required to have a quarterback speak to the media during the week, and Mac Jones, who has been the team’s starter all season, did the honors on Wednesday.
However, when Jones was asked if he’ll be leading the offense this weekend, he was noncommittal.
“Hope so. That’s the plan I think,” Jones said, via Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald. “We’ll see.”

Jones was replaced by Bailey Zappe in the fourth quarter of the Patriots’ 10-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Germany on Nov. 12. New England had a bye last week.
Following the loss to Indianapolis, which dropped the Patriots to 2-8 on the season, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reported that Jones had lost the locker room.
“One team source estimated that at least 80% of the Patriots’ locker room is out on Jones,” Callahan wrote. “Another said the “vast majority” of players are done with him. Both said the lack of belief spreads to both sides of the ball, with a shared sense that Jones’ worst mistakes negate the best efforts of his teammates.”
The Patriots and Giants will kick off at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
