Patriots quarterback Mac Jones reportedly tried to check Julian Edelman after the former Super Bowl MVP criticized him publicly.

During a recent appearance on Barstool’s “Pardon My Take,” the ex-New England slot receiver asked if any current players ever got mad at him for an opinion he had since joining the media. To which Edelman replied, Jones once did.

“He texted me like, ‘What’s up, how are you bro?'” Edelman recalled. “It was literally right after the thing I said. I was like, ‘I’m good man, I’m taking my daughter to school right now, how are you?'”

The 37-year-old wouldn’t specify what remarks bothered Jones but he did reveal that the situation happened “a few years ago.”

Regardless, Jones has earned himself plenty of criticism for his play in the time since after putting together back-to-back subpar seasons for losing Patriots teams.

The team is likely to move off him as soon as they can and at the very least will look at drafting a quarterback with their top pick.
