The state of Massachusetts is going to be honoring former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in a big way today.
On Wednesday, Massachusetts governor Maura Healey formally announced that June 12, 2024 would be officially deemed “Tom Brady Day” in honor of his outstanding football career.
“Now, therefore, I, Maura T. Healey, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim June 12th, 2024, to be, TOM BRADY DAY And urge all residents of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance,” the official proclamation said after recognizing Brady’s accomplishments.
The date was likely chose to recognize the six Super Bowl titles he delivered to the New England Patriots and the No. 12 jersey that he wore throughout his career.

During his NFL career, the first 20 years of which were spent with the New England Patriots, Brady became the first quarterback to win five Super Bowls with a single team and later extended that mark to six. He is the only five-time Super Bowl MVP in history and owns just about every all-time passing record for a career.
Brady is, for now, the undisputed Greatest of All-Time in professional football and pretty much every accolade he’s received since the end of his career is well-deserved.
