New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe officially has a ring on his finger, it’s just not a Super Bowl ring.
Earlier this month, Zappe married his college sweetheart, Hannah Lewis, in Montana. She shared photos from their special day in a joint Instagram post with The Knot.
In an exclusive interview with The Knot, Zappe talked about the early stages of his relationship. It turns out he faced a tough test on his very first date with Hannah.
“Our first date was to Panera, and she wouldn’t let me pay for her food,” Zappe said. “I’m from the South, and that’s one of the things you have to do. I was sitting there like, ‘Look, I have to do this, otherwise I’m gonna be shamed by my parents.'”
Lewis eventually gave up and allowed Zappe to pay, and the rest is history.
Although it wasn’t the only reason why they landed on Montana for the site of their wedding, Bailey and Hannah revealed that “Yellowstone” played a role in their decision.
“We’re from Texas where it’s all flatlands,” Hannah said. “We wanted our venue to have scenic mountains, and we both love the show Yellowstone. So we landed on Montana.”
With NFL training camp just two weeks away, Bailey and Hannah will have to make their way over to Foxborough.
Zappe, who broke NCAA records back at Western Kentucky, was drafted by the Patriots in 2022. In two seasons in New England, he has thrown for 2,053 yards with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
As of right now, Zappe is not expected to compete for the starting gig in New England. That being said, he seems to be doing quite well for himself this year.
