New England Patriots defender Jabrill Peppers might have an uncomfortable conversation with head coach Bill Belichick in his future after a hot mic caught him seemingly bad-mouthing his own team.
In the moment after Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants, Peppers met his former teammate Saquon Barkley on the field. Barkley was mic’d up at the time, so it was easy to hear what Peppers said:
“You lucky we ass,” he said as the two of them shared a hug.
Patriots fans have responded quickly with many pointing out that this is yet another sign that head coach Bill Belichick has lost the locker room amid the team’s 2-9 start to the season.

“This right here should be the straw to break Krafts back. When players openly saying they suck, that never happens. Belichick has no control,” one user replied, referring to Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
“Oh the Patriots are NOT going to be happy that NFL Films put this out,” another wrote.
“While I can admit this is funny, Kraft and Belichick need to raise the standard. This shouldn’t be acceptable and reflects poorly on the Patriots brand as a whole. Peppers has become one of the leaders on this team and shouldn’t be joking about how bad the team is,” wrote a third.
Will Peppers be punished for what he said?
