Three years ago the New England Patriots made Mac Jones their highest-drafted quarterback in a generation. But with a new regime in place and the No. 3 pick on Draft Day, one analyst believes they’re bound to take another one.
During today’s Senior Bowl broadcast, NFL Draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said he would be “stunned” if the Patriots did not draft a quarterback No. 3 overall. Jeremiah said that he expects all of the teams picking in the top three – the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders and New England Patriots – to take a quarterback, though he isn’t “100-percent sure” about the Commanders.
The options for the Patriots at quarterback should be plentiful at No. 3 though. Between Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix, they will have no shortage of options to evaluate before the draft.
Daniel Jeremiah on the Senior Bowl broadcast says he’d be “stunned” if the #Patriots do not go QB at No. 3.
Of the top three teams, he adds Washington is the team he’s not “100% percent sure” will go QB.

By all accounts and appearances, the New England Patriots are ready to wash their hands of Mac Jones. Despite making the Pro Bowl as a rookie and finishing second in the Rookie of the Year voting, he’s seemingly gotten worse in each of the two seasons since.
His decline culminated in a benching during the 2023 season and he was a healthy scratch to finish the season – and Bill Belichick’s tenure as head coach.
Who will the Patriots take with their No. 3 overall pick?
