The New England Patriots drafted not one, but two quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After taking North Carolina’s Drake Maye with the No. 3 pick, the Patriots decided to grab Tennessee gunslinger Joe Milton in the sixth round. That selection shocked many people, including the fans in New England.
Maye and Milton will join a quarterback room that already features Jacoby Brissett and Bailey Zappe.
Well, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Patriots could make Zappe available for trade very soon.
“With five QBs on the roster, it’s a crowded room for one of last year’s starters Bailey Zappe,” Rapoport said. “Safe to say, he’s likely available in a trade if it makes sense.”
The Patriots have already traded Mac Jones this offseason, so they’re clearly not afraid to shake up their quarterback room.
If Zappe gets traded, he’ll finish his time in New England with 2,053 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
To be fair, Zappe probably wasn’t going to see any playing time this fall. The Patriots will either ride with Brissett or Maye as their starter.
