There are a lot of teams picking in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL Draft in need of a new quarterback. But one analyst believes that all three of the top picks will wind up being signal callers.
In his “Mock Draft 1.0” column for NFL.com, Daniel Jeremiah has three quarterbacks going with the first three picks and four in the top 15.
Jeremiah has the Chicago Bears taking USC quarterback and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams No. 1 overall, followed by the Washington Commanders taking North Carolina’s Drake Maye No. 2 overall.
“We’ve seen Justin Fields continue to improve, but I still believe GM Ryan Poles’ decision at No. 1 overall will be an easy one. The Bears select Williams, the most talented quarterback in the class,” Jeremiah wrote of Williams.
“It’s a new era in Washington led by general manager Adam Peters. The Commanders find their quarterback of the future in Maye,” he wrote about Maye.
With the third pick, Jeremiah has the New England Patriots making Heisman Trophy winner and LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels the No. 3 overall pick.
“While Marvin Harrison Jr. would be tempting here, the Patriots need to address the quarterback position first and foremost. Daniels is coming off a monster year as a dual-threat weapon,” he wrote on Daniels to the Patriots.

Elsewhere in the first round he had Oregon quarterback and Heisman Trophy finalist Bo Nix going No. 14 overall to the New Orleans Saints.
Do you think Daniel Jeremiah got those picks right?
