When the coaching carousel stops spinning in the next few weeks, Bill Belichick could be left without a seat.
On Friday’s edition of “Get Up,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided an update on Belichick’s coaching future. As of now, it sounds like the six-time Super Bowl champion will have to wait for a job opening in 2025.
“There is no sign right now that the greatest coach of all time is going to have a coaching home in 2024,” Schefter said.
Just hearing that statement from Schefter is shocking. Belichick is the most accomplished coach in NFL history. The fact that he wasn’t a hot commodity this hiring cycle is telling.

Belichick interviewed twice with the Atlanta Falcons for their head-coaching vacancy. However, they ultimately decided to hire Raheem Morris.
The Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders still have openings at head coach, but neither team is considering Belichick for the job. They’re focused on candidates like Ben Johnson and Dan Quinn.
Are you surprised Belichick is still on the open market?
