The UCLA product projects as a Day 2 selection in this year’s draft.
The New England Patriots keep showing a keen interest in this year’s defensive edge class. After already establishing reported pre-draft contact with a dozen draft prospect at the all-star showcases and the Scouting Combine, they are now taking a closer look at the group through their 30 visits.
The latest addition to the list is UCLA outside linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo, according to a report by Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network.
Oladejo, 21, started his college career at Cal before transferring to UCLA in 2023. In two seasons with the Bruins, he saw action in 25 games with 17 starts. Originally an off-the-ball linebacker, the 6-foot-3, 259-pounder moved to the edge during his 2024 senior season.
The move paid instant dividends: Oladejo produced the best season of his career, registering 33 combined quarterback pressures including 4.5 sacks. He also had 57 combined tackles, 13.5 of them resulting in a loss of yardage, as well as two pass breakups.
At the Combine, Oladejo did not do any running. However, he posted a 36.5-inch vertical and 10-foot broad jump to showcase the explosiveness that might make him as a Day 2 pick in next month’s draft — one that is still developing as an edge rusher.
Oladejo is the second edge the Patriots are bringing in for a pre-draft visit. They also are among just four teams to host projected top-four pick Abdul Carter of Penn State.
In total, nine of their maximum 30 such visits have now been reported.
