Brenden Schooler played 86.5 percent of the snaps on special teams in 2024.
A cog in the New England Patriots’ kicking game has again been recognized by the NFL Players Association.
Brenden Schooler earned a place on the Players’ All-Pro first team for 2024, the NFLPA announced Wednesday, marking his second consecutive selection.

To determine the third annual list, active players around the league voted for peers who had the most impact during the regular season, choosing the best at their positions in addition to at the positions they line up against. A total of 29 names made the cut.
And under the category of “core teamer,” leaders from each locker room nominated a pair of players to put on the ballot. Schooler got the call there alongside Miles Killebrew, while the NFLPA All-Pros on special teams would also include kicker Chris Boswell, punter Logan Cooke, long snapper Ross Matiscik, punt returner Marvin Mims Jr. and kick returner KaVontae Turpin.
Schooler, 27, finished the 4-13 campaign atop New England’s special teams with 86.5 percent of the snaps played. Under coordinator Jeremy Springer, he also finished with nine tackles, the highest tally in Foxborough for the third year in a row.
Last week, Schooler was named a Pro Bowler for the first time in his NFL tenure. Arriving as an undrafted free agent in 2022 following collegiate stops at Oregon, Arizona and Texas, he has gone on to appear in 50 games while amassing 1,115 snaps in the kicking game. The run includes 36 tackles as well as four fumble recoveries, one blocked field goal and one blocked punt.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound gunner also saw 50 snaps on the defensive side of the ball in 2024. That sample size as a blitzing safety gave way to his initial NFL sacks against quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Tua Tagovailoa.
The Patriots reached a three-year, $9 million contract extension with Schooler in October, carrying $3.6 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $10.5 million through 2027.
