Would Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney have been lined up illegally on that fateful play against the Bills if Troy Brown had been his coach? Brown certainly seems to think so.
Speaking to Nick O’Malley of MassLive, the New England Patriots wide receivers coach was less than sympathetic to the plight of Toney or the Chiefs. He said that he avoids that issue by teaching his players to line up legally.
“I just teach my guys to line up legally,” Brown said. “That’s what you teach them. You scoot up, you scoot back or whatever it is. Just always make sure you’re in a legal formation before the ball is snapped and that nobody’s moving around, that you’re still.”
“I’m not sure what happened with those guys and how that worked with them. You can always check with them… I did see what happened in the game. That was unfortunate for them, but that’s the call that the officials made, nothing you can do about it.”

It doesn’t appear Patriots coach Troy Brown feels bad for the Chiefs after their costly penalty on Sunday.https://t.co/9OfKc4xhCJ

The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans seem to still insist that Toney was onsides for the game-winning touchdown play that was ultimately nullified.
That might be why nobody has really had to answer or be held internally responsible for Sunday’s devastating loss.
