Sunday’s kickoff at Gillette Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET.
The New England Patriots will have help off the edges and off the ball against the Los Angeles Rams.
The organization elevated linebackers Keshawn Banks and Joe Giles-Harris from the practice squad on the eve of Sunday’s matchup at Gillette Stadium.
Banks, 24, signed to the practice squad in Foxborough in October after visiting for a workout in September. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound edge defender out of San Diego State entered the NFL with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2023. He cleared waivers following his rookie preseason and made his debut as a standard elevation for the NFC divisional round last January, seeing two snaps on defense and nine snaps on special teams. After clearing waivers at the league’s cutdown in August, the former second-team All-Mountain West selection began 2024 in the UFL ranks with the Michigan Panthers.
Giles-Harris, 27, previously served as a call-up versus the New York Jets and Chicago Bears. The 6-foot-2, 234-pound veteran inside linebacker now stands at the NFL limit in elevations after reverting last week. He has recorded two tackles and one quarterback hit through 17 snaps on defense and 33 snaps on special teams in 2024. Giles-Harris spent the entirety of last campaign on New England’s practice squad before being retained on a futures contract and rejoining to the scout team in August. Undrafted in 2019, the Duke product has also been a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. His career includes 28 tackles, one sack and three starts across 19 games.
In additional movement, the Patriots officially activated defensive tackle Christian Barmore from the non-football injury list and waived wide receiver Tyquan Thornton to make room on the 53-man roster.
Ten players were listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week.
