A look at the Patriots’ game day roster for their Week 8 game against the Jets.
The New England Patriots are back home at Gillette Stadium following their rather underwhelming trip to London. Not only will they play their Week 8 game in a familiar environment, they also will host a familiar team: the New York Jets, who they already faced off against — and lost to — in Week 3.
Here is who the Patriots will employ in hopes of earning a better result this time around.
Patriots game day roster
Quarterback (2): Drake Maye (10), Jacoby Brissett (7)

With rookie Ja’Lynn Polk out due to a concussion, the Patriots will turn to another rookie to help pick up the slack against the Jets: fourth-round draft pick Javon Baker will make his return after not playing in four straight games. Also back on the game day roster is former second-round selection Tyquan Thornton; he was made a healthy scratch in back-to-back games before Sunday.
Elsewhere, the Patriots will again see changes along their offensive line. This time, however, it appears they might be returning to a previous grouping for the first time all season: the expectation is that New England will roll with Vederian Lowe, Michael Jordan, Ben Brown, Michael Onwenu and Demontrey Jacobs for a second time after Week 6.
Defensively, the Patriots will see the comeback of Sione Takitaki. The free agency pickup played in Week 6 after his return from the PUP list, but was out Week 7. Now, he is back to hopefully improve what has been a disappointing linebacker group lately.
In the secondary, meanwhile, Marte Mapu and Jaylinn Hawkins will likely see a heavy workload again due to Kyle Dugger being out.

New England’s reserve lists saw no changes since last week’s game against Jacksonville. The inactives, meanwhile, feature some big names: the aforementioned Kyle Dugger and Ja’Lynn Polk, as well as starting defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale and Joshua Uche. The latter has been rumored as a trade candidate, and his status as a healthy scratch only adds fuel to the fire.
The Patriots’ Week 8 game against the Jets will be kicked off at 1 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium.
