The New York Giants announced that Troy Brown is joining their staff as an offensive assistant as part of the NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship program.
Brown has familiarity and connections within the organization with coach Brian Daboll, who coached wide receivers in New England when he played for the Patriots.
Last season, Brown worked in skill development and as a kick and punt returners coach. He also worked with running backs and wide receivers during his time with the team.
The Patriots moved in a different direction with the arrival of coach Mike Vrabel, but Brown clearly meant a lot to the organization as a three-time Super Bowl champion with 6,366 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns.
Now, he will have an opportunity to start anew as an assistant coach for the Giants. It’s a struggling franchise coming off back-to-back losing seasons in one of the toughest divisions in football.
