The oddsmakers predict a blowout for the Patriots on Sunday.
For most of the 21st century, the New England Patriots dominated the hapless Buffalo Bills. Since 2020, however, there has been a role reversal — one that might have never been as lopsided as this year.
Entering their first meeting of the season, the two AFC East rivals are on opposite ends of the spectrum. The Bills are coming off an impressive 48-42 win over the Detroit Lions, whereas the Patriots were beaten 30-17 by the Arizona Cardinals.
Playing at home, the AFC East champion Bills are unsurprisingly huge betting favorites per FanDuel Sportsbook.

To find the last time the Patriots were regarded as more than a two-touchdown underdog, you have to go back all the way to Week 15 of the 1992 season. Back then, they were listed as 16.5-point underdogs to the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Pro Football Reference.
New England ended up losing that particular game 27-20. Whether or not Sunday’s rivalry game will be that close remains to be seen.
The oddsmakers don’t think so.
