Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots had a great marriage for over 20 years.
Yes, it ended in a divorce this offseason but not before Belichick helped the Patriots win six Super Bowls during his reign as head coach.
It has owner Robert Kraft feeling super grateful even though Belichick won’t be the head coach this season.
“Look, I’ll state this clearly: I feel so privileged that we had Bill here. We hope when he’s finished that we’re going to have a chance to honor him the way we will do with Tom Brady this year. We did this little ceremony at halftime of the Eagles game (for Brady, but it was not adequate…I look forward to the privilege of putting Bill in the Patriots Hall of Fame one day in the future,” Kraft said.
Belichick is one of the greatest coaches in NFL history and will surely be in Canton once he officially retires from coaching.
Right now, he’s taking some time off but could coach another team when next season ends.
During his time with the Patriots, he went 302-165 and also won 30 playoff games. In addition to coaching the Patriots, he also coached the Cleveland Browns for five seasons.
