Jalen Reagor appeared in 11 games for New England last season.
A vested veteran has departed from the practice squad in Foxborough.
The New England Patriots announced the release of wide receiver Jalen Reagor on Tuesday, opening an additional spot.
Reagor, 25, had outlasted the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline in August before being released to make room for waiver claims. He returned as a member of the scout team soon after and remained in that capacity through the 1-1 start to the campaign.
The No. 21 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft initially arrived at Gillette Stadium as the practice squad formed in 2023. He did so after appearing in 45 games, including 24 starts, between stops with the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.
Hitting the league limit in standard elevations before being promoted to the active roster, Reagor finished last season with 138 receiving yards and 17 rushing yards on offense. In the kicking game, he added 221 return yards, led by a 98-yard touchdown on New Year’s Eve versus the Buffalo Bills.
After appearing in 11 contests and starting one, a one-year contract followed in March.
The TCU product has caught 97 passes for 937 yards and four touchdowns during an NFL career that also includes 100 ground yards and a punt return for a touchdown.
The New York Jets host Thursday’s 8:15 p.m. ET AFC East kickoff at MetLife Stadium.
