Grant worked with Mike Vrabel in Cleveland last year.
The New England Patriots have added a new quarterbacks coach to their staff as they have reportedly hired Ashton Grant, according to CBS’ Jonathan Jones.
The Patriots are hiring Ashton Grant as their quarterbacks coach, sources tell @NFLonCBS. Grant, who has been with the Browns the last 5 years, also interviewed for the Packers QBs coach job this offseason. Now he joins Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels in New England. pic.twitter.com/oVIla6ddEW

A New England native, Grant was born in Manchester, Conn. and went on to attend Assumption College where he was named 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Year as a wide receiver. Grant’s first coaching experience then came at Holy Cross as a volunteer special teams quality control coach.
Grant broke into the NFL with the Cleveland Browns in 2020 as part of the Bill Walsh NFL diversity coaching fellowship program. He worked closely with several offensive positional groups over the next two years before being named an offensive quality control coach in 2022.
Over the last two years, Grant was promoted to the title of offensive assistant/quarterbacks in Cleveland where he worked under former Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt before overlapping with Mike Vrabel this past season.
Grant will now work closely with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels in continuing to develop Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. During his recent tenures in New England, McDaniels had held the quarterbacks coach title in every year but 2020 — when Jedd Fisch served in the role.
