York, 23, entered the NFL with the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2022 draft. The past LSU national champion, taken No. 124 overall that spring, has also been a member of the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants and Washington Commanders. Through 18 career games, he stands 24-of-34 on field goals and 37-of-39 on extra points. The August trade acquisition cleared waivers following the season opener.
Borregales, 26, previously worked out for the Patriots leading up to the 2022 campaign. The former first-team All-American and Lou Groza Award winner by way of Florida International and the University of Miami went undrafted in 2021. After spending his rookie year on the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he made subsequent stops with the XFL’s Orlando Guardians and CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Havrisik, 25, went undrafted out of the University of Arizona in 2022. He spent his rookie year on the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts. And after beginning 2023 on the practice squad in Cleveland, Havrisik departed for a spot on the Los Angeles Rams’ 53-man roster, overlapping with current Patriots special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer. Nine appearances followed last fall, finishing 15-of-20 field goals and 19-of-22 extra points. He was most recently a member of the Buffalo Bills’ scout team.
Brown, 24, had stints at the College of the Canyons, UNLV and Oklahoma State before going undrafted to the Rams in 2023. His rookie summer, which also overlapped with the then-assistant special teams coach, ended at the 53-man roster deadline. A futures contract arrived in January for Brown, who was waived again in August and returned to Los Angeles on the practice squad in September. He became a free agent as the calendar turned to October.
Rauschenberg, 23, earned an invitation to rookie minicamp with the Kansas City Chiefs and was waived in June. The transfer to North Texas spent four years as the kickoff specialist at Baylor, turning 243 opportunities in 180 touchbacks across 43 games. He went 16-of-19 on field goals and 46-of-46 on extra points as a senior while the Mean Green ranked atop the NCAA with 11.4 yards allowed per kick return.
The practice squad remains at capacity for the Patriots. Veteran incumbent Joey Slye has gone 19-of-22 on field goals and 15-of-16 on extra points during his first fall in Foxborough. A long of 63 yards, good for the franchise record, stands among them.
