The product of Ole Miss and Utah went undrafted in April.
A September visitor to Foxborough has returned in October.
The New England Patriots signed rookie cornerback Miles Battle to the practice squad on Monday, according to an evening report from Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2.
Battle, 24, had been among the organization’s workouts last month. The former transfer from Ole Miss to Utah entered the NFL as part of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2024 undrafted class. He was waived ahead of the 53-man roster deadline in August following a preseason that brought a pair of tackles between work in the secondary and on special teams.
The 6-foot-3, 196-pound defensive back appeared in 59 games during his collegiate run. Making two starts for the Utes last fall, he had a hand in 32 tackles as well as four passes defensed, including an interception returned 24 yards against Arizona State. It marked the third pick of a career that also included seven catches.
The San Antonio Brahmas selected Battle in the fourth round of the 2024 UFL draft in July.
A corresponding move to make room lies ahead for the Patriots. Running back Terrell Jennings and long snapper Tucker Addington reverted to the practice squad after serving as standard elevations for Sunday’s 41-21 loss to the Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium.
