The good and bad from the Patriots’ game in NFL Week 10.
The New England Patriots are back in the win column, thanks to a 19-3 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 10. The game was the Patriots’ best, and most complete effort of the Drake Maye era, and it helped them improve to 3-7 on the year.
Here are some (Patriots-centric) highlights from the game.

After the two teams exchanged three-and-outs to open the game, the Patriots offense was able to find some rhythm on its second possession. On the very first snap of the series, which eventually ended with a field goal, quarterback Drake Maye found tight end Austin Hooper for a 28-yard pickup.

After connecting on a 28-yard pickup on the Patriots’ second drive of the day, Drake Maye and Austin Hooper also hooked up on the fifth. This time, the duo managed to convert a 3rd-and-1 and gain 25 yards in the process of doing so — a pivotal play that ended with New England’s first touchdown of the day.

Second-round rookie receiver Ja’Lynn Polk had a rough few weeks, but he was actively involved with the offense on Sunday. His biggest play of the day came late in the second quarter, and with the Patriots knocking on the door for their first touchdown of the day.
They eventually crossed the goal line on a play-action concept that saw Polk sneak out to the left-side flat. Maye found him wide open for their first ever scoring connection, and the young wideout’s second career TD.

The Patriots wrapped up what was arguably their best overall half of football of the Drake Maye era with a 37-yard Joey Slye field goal as time expired. That play would not have been possible without Drake Maye and Kayshon Boutte connecting on a 23-yard pass with only seconds left on the clock. Boutte showing some good awareness after the reception allowed Maye to spike the ball with 2 seconds left on the clock.
Brenden Schooler records first career sack

The Patriots sacked Bears quarterback Caleb Williams nine times on the day, so why does this particular takedown stand out? Because it came courtesy of core special teamer Brenden Schooler, who saw the first extended defensive action of his NFL career on Sunday and immediately made it count.
