The first injury report heading into Week 10 at Soldier Field.
The New England Patriots returned to the practice fields without three, including a defensive captain.
Running back JaMycal Hasty, linebacker Christian Elliss and safety Kyle Dugger were non-participants as work on the Chicago Bears got underway in Foxborough on Wednesday.
Here’s the first injury report heading into Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Soldier Field.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
Patriots
- RB JaMycal Hasty (personal)
- LB Christian Elliss (abdomen)
- S Kyle Dugger (ankle)
Bears
- OT Darnell Wright (knee)
- OT Kiran Amegadjie (calf)
- OT Braxton Jones (knee)
- DT Andrew Billings (pectoral)
- CB Jaylon Jones (shoulder)
- S Jaquan Brisker (concussion)
Dugger has missed back-to-back games in the secondary due to an ankle injury. The top pick in the 2020 Patriots draft class was listed as limited throughout last week before going from questionable to inactive. He began the fall with 35 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. As for the others sidelined on Wednesday, Hasty’s absence was due to personal reasons while Elliss’ absence was due to a recent abdomen issue. The latter has started the past two weeks, yet played a reduced 58 percent of the defensive snaps against the Tennessee Titans.
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- OT Vederian Lowe (shoulder)
- G Layden Robinson (ankle)
- DT Daniel Ekuale (abdomen)
- DT Jaquelin Roy (neck)
- DE Keion White (knee)
- LB Sione Takitaki (knee)
- S Marte Mapu (neck)
Bears
- DE Montez Sweat (shin)
- DE Darrell Taylor (knee)
- LB Noah Sewell (knee)
- CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring)
- CB Terell Smith (ankle)
Seven went forward as limited participants for New England on Wednesday. All seven were in uniform for what became a 20-17 overtime loss at Nissan Stadium. It was a matchup that Roy and Mapu both exited. But the defensive tackle as well as the hybrid safety both ultimately returned while managing neck ailments.
FULL PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- G Michael Jordan (ankle)
- CB Alex Austin (ankle — IR return)
Bears
- OT Teven Jenkins (knee)
- G Ryan Bates (shoulder — IR return)
The Patriots opened the 21-day practice window for Austin last week. The sophomore cornerback was not activated on the eve of Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but has since graduated to full participation after being placed on injured reserve at the end of September. And on the offensive line, Jordan also went in full. The starting left guard had previously been listed as limited and questionable due to an ankle issue of his own.
