The first injury report heading into Week 5 at Gillette Stadium.
The New England Patriots began preparations for the Miami Dolphins down five members of the active roster.
In addition to ironman center David Andrews, who is expected to miss the rest of the season due to shoulder surgery, Wednesday’s practice also went on without wide receiver K.J. Osborn, offensive tackle Caedan Wallace and defensive captains Kyle Dugger and Jabrill Peppers.
Here’s the first injury report leading up to Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium.
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
Patriots
- WR K.J. Osborn (shoulder)
- OT Caedan Wallace (ankle)
- C David Andrews (shoulder)
- S Kyle Dugger (ankle)
- S Jabrill Peppers (shoulder)
Dolphins
- LB Jaelan Phillips (knee)
- S Jordan Poyer (shin)
Andrews, Wallace and Dugger had all been downgraded from questionable to out during last Sunday’s 30-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. It was a matchup that Osborn and Peppers were also in the starting lineup for at receiver and safety. The latter veteran intercepted his first pass of 2024 in the final quarter at Levi’s Stadium. And on the other side of the AFC East, the Dolphins will go forward without a standout off the edges for the rest of the campaign due to knee surgery.

The practice windows officially opened for Bourne, Takitaki and Mapu on Wednesday. After residing between physically unable to perform and injured reserve for the initial four games of the regular season, New England’s returning wideout, linebacker and safety now have 21 days to be activated. They were among 10 limited participants to begin divisional prep. Hit hard on the offensive line, past and future starters in Lowe, Robinson, Leverett and Jordan all were on hand in a partial capacity for the Patriots. Two of whom did not make the trip to Santa Clara after staying sidelined last week. The edge-setting Jennings, meanwhile, went to the inactives 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
FULL PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- No players listed
Dolphins
- WR Odell Beckham Jr. (knee — PUP return)
- CB Cam Smith (hamstring — IR return)
No Patriots graduated to full workloads on Wednesday, but a pair of Dolphins who were placed on reserve lists in August took that step. Beckham underwent an offseason procedure, while across the ball, Smith reaggravated a hamstring injury during the preseason.
