First Quarter
Jacksonville won the coin toss and deferred, putting Drake Maye and Co. on the field to begin the day. New England picked up a pair of first downs through to air to DeMario Douglas and Hunter Henry to move across midfield. Then set up with a 3rd-and-3, a handoff to Rhamondre Stevenson went for 11 yards inside the red area. A sack then pushed New England behind the sticks, but Maye beat the blitz and found JaMycal Hasty who took it 16 yards for a touchdown. [Patriots 7 : 0 Jaguars]

Jacksonville’s offense got right to work on their first drive as Trevor Lawerence found Evan Engram on his first two attempts for 21 yards. Back-to-back runs set up a 3rd-and-5, where a short pass out of the backfield was stopped short by Jonathan Jones.
Second Quarter
Back with the football, New England faced an opening 3rd-and-4. From the gun, Maye broke out of the pocket and picked up 15 yards on the ground. Two completions to Henry then picked up 25 yards to again move the Patriots over midfield. Just outside the red area on 3rd-and-7, Maye’s pass to Kendrick Bourne just fell incomplete. Joey Slye’s 41-yard field goal was good. [Patriots 10 : 0 Jaguars]
Injury update: OL Layden Robinson (ankle) is questionable to return.
The Jaguars next possession got on the move with a 13-yard completion to Gabe Davis shortly followed by a 20-yard pass to Christian Kirk. Back-to-back first downs runs by D’Ernest Johnson and Tank Bigsby then set Jacksonville up inside the 10. On 3rd-and-goal, Lawerence found a wide open Brian Thomas Jr. for a score. [Patriots 10 : 7 Jaguars]
After Kayshon Boutte drew a DPI to open the next drive, New England went backwards with a negative run and tight end screen. On 3rd-and-15, Maye was forced into a check down to Hasty which came up short of the sticks.
Jacksonville quickly threatened New England’s defense as Lawrence lofted a perfectly placed deep shot downfield to Thomas Jr., who hauled in a tough catch over Christian Gonzalez tight in coverage. Three straight runs then led to a touchdown. [Patriots 10 : 14 Jaguars]
Now trailing for the first time, New England faced a 3rd-and-10 after a one-yard run and false start on Henry. After the two-minute warning, Maye’s hole shot to Polk down the right sideline was broken up.
Baringer’s punt was fielded at the four and taken 96 yards for a touchdown by Parker Washington. Jacksonville then went for two after a penalty on the extra point, where Lawerence hit Thomas for a conversion. [Patriots 10 : 22 Jaguars]
With 1:34 left in the half, a first-down negative run was followed by an incompletion to Douglas. On 3rd-and-14, Maye hit Henry over the middle for only 11 yards leading to another punt.
This Baringer punt was downed at the six-yard line where Jacksonville had 39 seconds on the clock. A short completion brought the game to half.
Third Quarter
The Jaguars started the second half with the football and began with a 10-yard completion to Evan Engram. Two plays later, a check down to Johnson went for 26 more yards after a missed tackle. Four straight runs then moved Jacksonville inside the 10, where Lawerence’s pass on 3rd-and-goal went incomplete as Kirk could not get his second foot inbounds in the end zone. Cam Little’s chip shot field goal was good. [Patriots 10 : 25 Jaguars]
Injury update: OL Layden Robinson (ankle) has been downgraded to out.
New England’s first drive of the second half saw Maye move the chains initially through the air to Austin Hooper. Then on a third-down, Maye’s pass to K.J. Osborn was nearly intercepted but broken up.
Injury update: WR DeMario Douglas (illness) is questionable to return.
Fourth Quarter
Completions to Brian Thomas Jr. picked up two first downs to get the Jaguars offense on the move again. New England’s defense then set up a 3rd-and-8 but a missed sack on a blitz by Marcus Jones left room for Lawerence to pick up the first down with his legs. Two more first-down runs by Bigsby went right up the gut before Jacksonville kept the ball on the ground to move inside the 10. The eighth straight run was just short of the line to gain and the ninth run on 4th-and-1 was stuffed.
Following the turnover on downs New England started on their own six-yard line. After picking up an opening first-down through the air, a 3rd-and-8 pass from Maye downfield was caught by Henry over a defender for 32 yards. The next play, New England picked up 35 more as Maye hit Kayshon Boutte down the left sideline. On 3rd-and-15 outside the red area, Maye delivered a dart up the seam to Osborn for score. The two-point conversion was no good as Polk slipped on a goal line whip route. [Patriots 16 : 25 Jaguars]

With 8:22 remaining, Jacksonville unsurprisingly kept the ball on the ground twice to set up a Trevor Lawerence sneak on third-down. Two more runs — which marked their 17th consecutive run — moved the chains again as the clock continued to tick. New England finally set up a 3rd-and-7 after two more runs, where Lawerence’s pass was incomplete.
Drake Maye retook the field down nine with 3:58 left in the fourth quarter. Things got moving with a first play completion to Kendrick Bourne for 14 yards. A holding call then helped set up a 3rd-and-12 where Maye was sacked for a 14-yard loss. On 4th-and-26 after the two-minute warning, Maye’s prayer down the field fell to the turf.
The Jaguars took over at the 10, where they found the end zone after three straight runs. [Patriots 16 : 32 Jaguars]
The Patriots got the ball back with 1:41 remaining, where Maye found Hasty and Hooper each twice to quickly move outside the red area. A false start then ended the game.
