The New England Patriots and the New York Jets will collide for a second time this season at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
It was a lopsided 24-3 victory for the Jets when the two teams last met in East Rutherford back in Week 3 of the season. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers diced the Patriots’ defense to pieces, and the offense got completely shut down by the Jets’ defense.
Since the first meeting, the Patriots’ offense has improved with the insertion of rookie Drake Maye as the starting quarterback. The unit is still dealing with personnel and play-calling issues, but Maye has opened things up in ways that weren’t possible with Jacoby Brissett under center. Perhaps that’ll be the difference-maker this time around.
The Patriots are coming off a 32-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Jets were surprisingly blown out on the road in a 37-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
