The Patriots return home for their Week 8 rematch with the Jets.
Fresh off a disappointing trip across the Atlantic, the New England Patriots will return home for Week 8. They will host a familiar team at Gillette Stadium: the New York Jets, who they Patriots already played against five weeks ago.
Back then, the game was a lopsided affair. The Jets got off to a fast start against the then 1-1 Patriots, and never looked back while coasting to a comfortable 24-3 Thursday night victory.
That game was notable not because of its final score, though, but because it was rookie quarterback Drake Maye’s first live game action. Fast forward five weeks, and he has since replaced previous starter Jacoby Brissett under center. And that’s far from the only change since the two AFC East rivals last met: the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh shortly thereafter.
So, there is plenty of nuance to this latest Patriots-Jets meeting. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 27.
