New England is looking for its third win of the season in Week 9.
After spending the week in concussion protocol, quarterback Drake Maye is good to go for the New England Patriots, who will look to stay in the win column after a much-needed victory last week.
For the Tennessee Titans, they will again start Mason Rudolph behind center as Will Levis remains sidelined with a shoulder injury.

First Quarter
The Titans took the ball to start Sunday’s contest after New England lost the coin toss, putting Mason Rudolph and Co. on the field first. Tennessee picked up an early first down through the air before Rudolph converted a 3rd-and-11 with his legs. After a 12-yard pass, a toss outside to Tony Pollard saw the back pick up 32 yards on the ground to move Tennessee inside the 10. The next play, Rudolph hit Nick Vannett for a touchdown. New England’s drive got kickstarted by a Drake Maye scramble, as the rookie avoided a pressure to pick up 26 yards on the ground. Two touches by Rhamondre Stevenson then set up a 3rd-and-5, where Maye was taken down for a sack —as Jeffery Simmons provided quick pressure along the interior. Joey Slye’s 56-yard field goal was then no good.
Taking over at their own 46-yard line after the miss, Pollard found more success on the ground breaking a 13-yard run to start the drive. Two more runs set up a 3rd-and-7, where Christian Gonzalez smothered Calvin Ridley on a slot fade and broke up the pass. Tennessee then punted after a delay of game.
The Patriots next drive faced an immediate 3rd-and-14 after a false start penalty on Kendrick Bourne. From the gun, Maye connected with Bourne but only for 11 yards leading to a punt.
A play-action pass resulted in a 24-yard completion to Vannett on the Titans first play from scrimmage. A Deatrich Wise sack on second-down helped slow down Tennessee, who then punted after an incomplete screen.
Second Quarter
Marcus Jones’ 44-yard punt return set the Patriots’ offense up just shy of midfield. New England was not able to capitalize, as Maye’s third-down pass was intercepted.
The turnover set Tennessee up at New England’s 40, where Rudolph hit Calvin Ridley over the middle for a 25-yard gain. A horse collar tackle on Keion White then moved the Titans inside the 10, where Rudolph’s third-down pass was high and went off his tight end’s hands which ended up in the arms of Jahlani Tavai for an interception.

Two short passes from Maye set New England up with a 3rd-and-1, in which Maye avoided pressure off play-action to underhand flip a pass to Stevenson for 12 yards. A 10-yard completion to Henry and 13-yard scramble by Maye then continued to move New England’s offense. On a 3rd-and-21 following a Ja’Lynn Polk hold and blown up screen, Maye’s quick pass to Henry picked up 12 yards. Slye’s 52-yard field goal was then good. [Patriots 3 : 7 Titans]
A pair of first downs moved Tennessee just short of midfield before a block in the back penalty moved them backwards. On 3rd-and-8 following the two-minute warning, Rudolph’s deep shot was overthrown leading to a punt.
Taking over at their own 15 with 1:48 left in the half, back-to-back completions to Kendrick Bourne picked up 25 totals yards. Set up with a 2nd-and-1, back-to-back runs were stuffed derailing the two-minute drive with a punt.
Just a 20-yard punt from Bryce Baringer put the Titans back in business near midfield. A defensive holding on Dell Pettus and completion to Ridley got the unit on the move. Pollard’s 10-yard run was called back by a hold and a delay of game then negated their progress. On 3rd-and-22 with 11 seconds remaining and no timeouts, Rudolph’s pass was thrown away. A fourth-down pass with three seconds was then thrown away to enter halftime.
