The second injury report heading into Week 9 at Nissan Stadium.
The New England Patriots continued Tennessee Titans prep with perfect attendance.
Offensive tackle Vederian Lowe, defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy and linebacker Christian Elliss all returned for Thursday’s practice in Foxborough. As for quarterback Drake Maye, who previously had a 30-minute window, he remained among the limited participants while appearing to reach the fourth phase of the NFL’s concussion protocol.
“Hopefully he’s progressing,” offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said of the rookie starter during his morning press conference. “I’m very hopeful that things keep going in the way they’re trending, but again, that’s not my area.”
Here’s the second injury report leading up to Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Nissan Stadium.

While a trio made their way back to practice for the Patriots, the list of non-participants stayed nine deep for the Titans. Spears in the offensive backfield and Avery and the defensive backfield both were downgraded due to hamstring injuries after beginning the week as limited participants.

With Maye trending up, a total of 15 practiced in a partial capacity for New England on Thursday. October starters in Lowe at left tackle, Roy at defensive tackle and Elliss at linebacker all returned from recent absences to hit that tally. But Thornton was also added to the team’s injury report. The former second-round wide receiver was limited by an ankle issue after catching a pair of passes for 20 yards in his return from being a healthy scratch.
FULL PARTICIPATION
Patriots
- WR Ja’Lynn Polk (concussion)
- S Marte Mapu (neck)
Titans
- WR Calvin Ridley (shoulder)
- DT Jeffery Simmons (veteran rest)
As two ramped up to full workloads in Tennessee, the same went for two in New England. Polk had resided in the league’s concussion protocol before being ruled out ahead of what became a 25-22 AFC East win last Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Alongside the rookie wideout, a neck injury had seen Mapu listed between limited participation and full participation since Week 7. The hybrid safety out of Sacramento State began his sophomore campaign on injured reserve due to a calf issue.
