Plus, fan confidence is moving up in light of last week’s win.
As the calendar flips to November, we wanted to check in on your expectations for the new month and for the NFL trade deadline in just a few days.
The New England Patriots kicked off the trade deadline early, shipping off edge rusher Joshua Uche to Kansas City last week. When asked how the team should approach the rest of the deadline, 50 percent of Patriots fans wanted the organization to sell conservatively. This means moving another player or two, at the right price. Another 20 percent want the team to sell aggressively to get assets for the future.
A report from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini that the team is interested in selling players including defensive captain Kyle Dugger, defensive lineman Davon Godchaux, and wide receivers Kendrick Bourne and Tyquan Thornton could fall into either category, depending on how many of those players find a new home by Tuesday afternoon.
19 percent of Patriots fans want the team to buy at the deadline, a strategy used by the Chicago Bears last year when they made a move for defensive end Montez Sweat. 11 percent want the team to hold steady.
Like with October, Patriots fans expect the team to win a single game this month. Unlike last month, there is increased optimism in multiple victories. 46 percent of New England fans expected the team to win one game in October, while 53 percent expect the team to win one game in November. An additional 29 percent expect two wins from the Pats, up from the 24 percent that expected two wins last month. Just 11 percent believe the Patriots will go winless in November, 5 percent expecting three wins and 2 percent thinking the team goes undefeated.
New England plays road games at the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins this month while also hosting the Los Angeles Rams.
New England’s last-minute victory over the Jets last Sunday resulted in a 30-point bump in fan confidence, roughly equal to the 31-point jump after Drake Maye’s first start. 48 percent of fans now say they are confident in the direction of the team, also the highest mark since Maye’s first start.
The Patriots take on the Tennessee Titans this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. New England enters the contest as 3-point underdogs, according to FanDuel.
