Plus, how will the Pats hold up in an AFC rematch?
The New England Patriots lost their sixth consecutive game on Sunday, the longest streak for the team since 1993. The game marked the team’s first loss at Wembley Stadium and second loss in as many years in an international game.
The loss, combined with comments made by head coach Jerod Mayo after the game about the team being “soft” and a reaction to those comments by former longtime head coach Bill Belichick on the Pat McAfee show, left fans debating who’s to blame for the state of the roster.
Is it primarily on Mayo, Belichick, current de facto general manager Eliot Wolf, or longtime owner Robert Kraft that team has gotten to this point?
The Patriots will play at home for the third time in four weeks in their return from overseas, hosting the New York Jets in a Week 3 rematch. The Jets got the best of New England in primetime, handling them by a margin of 24-3. Since then, the Jets have not won once, firing head coach Robert Saleh, trading for wide receiver Davante Adams, and ending a holdout by edge rusher Haason Reddick in the process. The Patriots have also changed, subbing in rookie Drake Maye at quarterback. Do you expect the team to fare better, worse, or about the same in the rematch?
