In 2018, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick snubbed a few Detroit Lions fans just looking for a high-five. That moment became an internet meme for several years.
Well, it turns out there’s a happy ending to this situation.
Later in the 2018 season, Belichick had a nice chat with those fans. They also posed for a picture at Gillette Stadium.
Apparently, Belichick told them, “Sorry I missed you in Detroit.” The best part about this story is that he signed a photo of the moment he snubbed them at Ford Field.
Belichick’s signature featured his Super Bowl victories.
“Two more things to add given this is blowing up a little. When they met him, the first thing he said was, ‘Sorry I missed you in Detroit.’ I also made copies of the pic and he was nice enough to sign them,” the father of these fans said. “He couldn’t have been nicer. It’s a side most don’t see but should.”

NFL fans are applauding Belichick for this classy gesture.
“That’s actually pretty cool,” one fan replied.
Another fan said, “Signing that picture is objectively hysterical.”
Belichick’s future in New England has become a hot topic over the past few days, so it’s nice to have this story break the tension.
