New England Patriots fans are hoping that Drake Maye could become even half of the player Tom Brady was during his career in Foxboro.
Maye, the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft, had the pleasure of meeting Brady this weekend.
Both were participating in a program with Fanatics, which included rookies having the opportunity to chat with and learn from Brady and Jay Z.
“Breakfast with Jay and Tom > $500k 😂😂 but seriously awesome morning with @tombrady @jayz and our @fanatics NFL rookies discussing sports and business!” Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin wrote on Instagram. “Tommy and Jay thank you so much for the invaluable advice and knowledge you shared – this was such an incredible opportunity for these rooks before they take their first snap. Big things ahead for this group – can’t wait to watch you all crush it on and off the field!”
Brady and Maye posed for a picture together, which is in that post from Rubin and has also been circulating on Twitter.

Brady hasn’t played for the Patriots in five years, but his shadow still looms over the franchise, particularly at the quarterback spot.
Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like Maye is putting too much pressure on following Brady’s footsteps.
“Tom Brady’s the G.O.A.T.,” Maye said after being drafted. “It’s easy to say that. He’s the best that ever played this game. I’m not going to be Tom Brady. So, I’m just going to try to be Drake Maye, and from there, I’m just trying to learn from him, hopefully get to know him a little bit. Other than that, just try to soak it up, be a sponge and try to learn all I can from him. He’s the man of that town.”
