Bill Belichick’s incredible run with the New England Patriots could very well be done after this weekend.
Should the Patriots choose to move on from Belichick after 24 seasons, it seems likely another franchise (or several) will have interest in the six-time Super Bowl champion.
One of the teams looking for a new head coach are the Los Angeles Chargers, and tonight, CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson mentioned Belichick as one of four coaches LA has an eye on, along with Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.
I’m told the expectation at this time for the #Chargers is that they’ll run their head coach & general manager searches simultaneously, per source.
Some early names surfacing around the HC vacancy at this preliminary stage include Dan Quinn, Eric Bienemy, Jim Harbaugh &…

Denver-based NFL insider Benjamin Allbright also confirmed that Belichick is one of three men the Chargers are doing “background work” on, in addition to Harbaugh and Quinn.
“As I talked about on Broncos pregame with Dave Logan,” Allbright wrote. “Harbaugh, Quinn and Belichick are the three they’ve been putting background work into.”

At 4-12 on the season, the Patriots have clinched a last-place finish in the AFC East for the first time since 2000, Belichick’s first season in Foxboro.
They will close out the campaign at home against the New York Jets this weekend. Come next Monday, we should start to get some more clarity on Belichick’s status.
