Bill Belichick’s future with the Patriots has been a hot topic in NFL circles for the past few months. On Tuesday, it was reported by NBC Sports that Robert Kraft is ready to make a change at head coach.
“When they came out of [the 10-6 loss to the Colts on Nov. 12 in] Germany, conversations I had that week made it very clear that a decision was made,” Curran said. “They were going to play out the string, and at the end of the year, there would be a parting of the ways for a variety of reasons.”
Less than 24 hours later, ESPN’s Dan Graziano provided a similar update on Belichick’s future.
Graziano said there’s “growing belief” in New England that Belichick won’t be the head coach of the Patriots in 2024.
“Whether it’s team owner Robert Kraft’s decision to move on, Belichick’s decision to step away or a mutual decision between the two parties, there is a growing belief around the NFL that someone besides Belichick will be coaching the team in 2024,” Graziano wrote.
Graziano added that New England’s current situation is being described as “miserable.”

Belichick was asked about the latest rumors this Wednesday. In typical fashion, he replied, “We’re getting ready for Kansas City.”
If the Patriots actually move on from Belichick, it’ll be fascinating to see who replaces him.
