ESPN NFL analyst Rex Ryan had a hilarious quote when reacting to the New England Patriots hiring Mike Vrabel as their new head coach.
It was made official on Sunday that Vrabel will become the 16th coach of the Patriots organization. Ryan was the defensive line coach and defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens when Vrabel played for the Patriots.
He is currently in the running to potentially be the next head coach for the New York Jets. If he ends up back with the Jets, Ryan could be seeing Vrabel and the Patriots twice a year as a division rival.
“Hey man, hopefully I get to kick this guy’s ass twice a year,” Ryan joked on ESPN’s Postseason Countdown.

It would certainly be fun to see Vrabel and Ryan matched up against each other on the sidelines.
Both men have strong defensive minds and a natural ability to coach up hard-nosed football teams. One thing is for certain: A hypothetical matchup would not lack in soundbites.
